Paul Rooney represented Jonathan Layzell at Newcastle Crown Court where he pleaded guilty to two counts of misconduct in public office. He received a sentence of 18 months imprisonment. Following a successful appeal against the length of sentence, the Court of Appeal reduced it to 8 months.
