Civil & Employment Law
Meet our team of experienced barristers who can help you with your Civil and Employment Law issues.
Our barristers can guide you in the field of Personal Injury, from complicated stress at work claims and industrial disease litigation to ‘simple’ whiplash and loss of earnings claims. They cover contractual disputes including consumer credit arguments, debt recovery, breaches of commercial contracts and building disputes. With many years’ experience of handling Civil Law cases, you can trust them to deal with your legal issue.
Services
Our barristers can appear on your behalf in courts across the North East and further afield. Our team is also experienced in the field of Employment Law and can provide advice and representation in cases including unfair and wrongful dismissal, redundancy, equal pay, whistleblowing, harassment and discrimination because of sex, race, age, disability, religious belief or sexual orientation.
Our clients range from individual employees to trade unions, small businesses and local authority employers.
In addition to providing advice and representation, members of the team are involved in the organisation of seminars for solicitors, human resources consultants and SMEs.
We also welcome instructions from members of the public and small businesses who wish to seek advice directly from a barrister without the need for a solicitor.
If you’re not certain which barrister to instruct for your case call Frank Hughes or Luke Martin on (01642) 804040 and they will be happy to help.
Education
Members of this group are regularly instructed to advise and represent parents, schools and education authorities.
Our specialist team offers advice and representation in relation to admission decisions/appeals and pupil exclusion decisions. These decisions can be critical to a child’s development and we believe that our team can assist in addressing these issues properly.
We also advise and represent in cases concerning discrimination and harassment on the grounds of religion, sex, race and disability in the educational environment.
