Paul and Phillip were instructed by Kenneth M Barrow Solicitors of Seaham, to represent Gary Mitchell, who was purported to be the controlling mind and the head of an alleged organised crime group, eight of whom were accused of being involved in a conspiracy to supply Class ‘A’ drugs, over an eleven month period in Co.Durham.
Over half a kilo of cocaine with a purity of 90% valued at approximately £150,000.00 and over £110,000.00 in cash were recovered during this complex investigation known as ‘Operation Ebony,’ which was undertaken by specialist surveillance officers.
Following an eleven week trial at Teesside Crown Court, the jury were in retirement for over a week, before returning a not guilty verdict in relation to Gary Mitchell.
