Fountain Chambers is delighted to welcome Shaun Spencer KC, of St John’s Buildings, as a door tenant who joined the family team in September 2025.
Shaun was called to the Bar in 2005 and took silk in 2022, following nearly two decades of practice in family law. Shaun is nationally recognised for his expertise in complex children law cases, encompassing both public and private law. Shaun is regularly instructed in cases including serious non-accidental injury, sexual abuse and cases of a complex medical nature.
Shaun regularly appears in the High Court and Court of Appeal and has acted in several notable cases involving issues such as inherent jurisdiction, deprivation of liberty, parental alienation, and cross-border disputes. Shain is regularly praised in both Legal 500 and Chambers UK for his exceptional advocacy, forensic cross-examination, and clear, strategic thinking.
As a door tenant, Shaun will strengthen Chambers’ capacity to offer outstanding specialist advice and representation in high-complexity family cases across the North East.
