Paul successfully prosecuted three defendants before Teesside Crown Court charged with Aggravated Burglary, S18 and possessing offensive weapons.
On 7th April 2024 the three defendants together with an unidentified man went to a house in Stockton-on-Tees at 4 am, armed with machetes and a pool cue. They smashed their way in through a ground floor window and entered with the weapons. Their intended target climbed out of the first-floor window to escape them.
Unfortunately, as he was escaping, he fell to the floor breaking his neck in two places and is now a tetraplegic (paralysed from the neck down).
Following an eight-day trial all defendants were found guilty of all charges.
