Following a four day trial at Durham Crown Court during which Paul introduced evidence from a neuropsychiatric expert to show the defendant suffered retrograde amnesia after the collision. Due to brain trauma the defendant was unable to form a memory of events in the seconds before the collision occurred. The collision reconstruction expert said “The way Paul conducted the case allowed him to pull all the relevant parts into the most powerful argument in his closing speech which was exceptional”.
