Paul Rooney prosecuted Jordon Broderick on 19.09.18 in relation to a S18 Grievous Bodily Harm that occurred in October 2017. He was sentenced to 11 years imprisonment and had an extended sentence imposed of a further four years on his licence period. Broderick will have to serve two thirds of the 11 years before he is able to apply for parole.
The victim was hit so hard over the head, with a lump of wood that he collapsed in the street and required emergency surgery to relieve the pressure on his brain. The victim remained in iTU for 17 days some of which he was in a coma.
The victim has undergone two further surgical procedure to have a titanium plate placed in his skull to protect his brain and to re shape his head.
