Paul argued before the COA that a 19-month sentence of imprisonment, in relation to Mr Laws, on a count of Perverting the course of Justice was manifestly excessive.
The perverting count was as a result of the D dragging an unconscious male, who he had assaulted, from inside a house to the rear alleyway in an attempt to escape the consequences of his criminal actions.
The sentencing Judge placed it onto the highest Category for Harm in the sentencing Guidelines.
The COA were persuaded that the correct Category was the middle one and reduced the sentence to 12 months.
