Alexander has undertaken his pupillage under the guidance of Jonathan Walker. He will be available to accept instructions for both prosecution and defence in Criminal Law from 6th April 2026. During this non-practising, formative period, Alexander gained valuable experience by observing a wide range of trials, including those involving RASSO, alongside his pupil supervisor in both prosecutorial and defence roles. Alexander benefited from shadowing various members of Chambers at different stages of their practice, which provided exposure to hearings in the Magistrates’ Court and Crown Court trials covering offences such as robbery and assault.
Throughout pupillage, Alexander has developed a keen understanding of the importance of handling vulnerable witnesses and honed the communication skills necessary for effective conferences with defendants. The extent of hearings observed included PTPH, Section 28, Sentencing, and Trial of Issue hearings.
Alexander also contributed to the preparation of key legal documents for his supervisor, including opening and closing speeches, cross-examinations, and multiple Sentencing Notes for both prosecution and defence.
Prior to pupillage, Alexander served as a Court Advocate for LPC Law, conducting advocacy in civil matters. This role, combined with the skills acquired during the Bar Training Course at Northumbria University, equipped Alexander with the ability to present arguments and legal principles effectively in court. During his master’s studies, Alexander graduated with distinction and was commended for his proficiency in examination-in-chief and cross-examination.
A lifelong resident of the North-Eastern circuit, Alexander is deeply committed to practising in the region and intends to continue building his practice locally. Alexander welcomes instructions to prosecute and defend in criminal matters.
