Ralf Xhepa

Profile

Ralf Xhepa is a pupil barrister who is undertaking his pupillage under the supervision of Robin Turton. He is available to accept instructions as part of our criminal team from 6th April 2026.

During his first six, Ralf observed a wide range of Magistrates’ and Crown Court work, including complex RASSO trials prosecuted and defended by his supervisor. He has been present in conferences with defendants, observed the handling of vulnerable witnesses, and gained exposure to s.28 hearings, appeals, and contested legal arguments. This early experience has given him a strong grounding in case strategy, courtroom dynamics, and the practical realities of criminal litigation.

Ralf has developed a growing portfolio of drafting experience. He has prepared legal documents including opening notes, cross‑examinations, and written research on legal issues. He was recently asked by his supervisor to draft a res gestae argument seeking to exclude evidence, demonstrating his ability to analyse and apply the law with clarity.

Before commencing pupillage, Ralf worked as a Crown Court paralegal and Police Station Representative. In that role, he provided clients with clear advice on offences, potential defences, and procedural next steps, often in high‑pressure environments requiring calm judgment and strong communication skills.

Ralf studied Law and completed the BPTC at Northumbria University. He will be available to accept instructions in both prosecution and defence work.

Outside of practice, Ralf enjoys hiking, running, and wild camping.
