Elisha became a tenant in September 2024 and practises exclusively in crime. She is a grade 2 prosecutor and regularly appears in the Magistrates and the Crown Court and accepts instructions to prosecute and defend cases involving drug supply, indecent images, dishonesty, violence and driving offences. Elisha also accepts instructions on behalf of the police in respect of civil applications.
Elisha is often acknowledged for the high quality of her written advocacy and case preparation. The prosecution recently offered no evidence against Elisha’s client following written submissions on a section 8 application, and abuse of process argument after significant disclosure failings by the prosecution.
Elisha appreciates the importance of client and witness care and is known for being well prepared, approachable, and down to earth with both her lay and professional clients. Elisha has a proactive and pragmatic approach with her client’s best interests and their individual needs at the forefront. She has recently received praise for her effective communication with witnesses during difficult discussions in criminal proceedings. She endeavours where the time allows to conduct client conferences in advance of court hearings to allow adequate case preparation, and the opportunity to reduce any client concerns.
In addition to her practise, Elisha regularly attends college and university events in the local area to support students who are considering a career at the Bar.
Prior to commencing pupillage under the supervision of Paul Rooney and Rebecca Brown, Elisha was a Legal Officer specialising in disclosure of material for Family Court proceedings, and Freedom of Information requests in accordance with the relevant legislation. Whilst in this substantive role, Elisha undertook a temporary role within the department as a Lawyer where she provided disclosure advice to Legal Officers on Family Court matters, attended advocates’ meetings, and drafted the legal basis for disclosures under the Common Law Disclosure Scheme.

Notable Cases
R v R [2025] – Defence
The defendant was sentenced for an offence of possessing a false identity document, an offence which attract an immediate custodial sentence in the absence of exceptional circumstances. The defendant received a suspended sentence with community requirements.
